Contort for One Another

2007 : Backbone series, beginnings

The beginning of a series: 'Contort for You', or the 'Backbone Series' has only two artworks so far, but has many more large scale painting in the process of creation.

This series shows the strengths and flexibility of someone who wishes to please and how this transforms them over time. There were many connotations involved in these two original works from c. 2006. I have sketches for 8 more artworks in this series - they continue the story of self-realisation and broach more positive aspects of a womans' life and her relationship with attraction, sacrifice, compromise and satisfaction.
