2009 : Catching time, portraits

'Catching Time' 2009:

Solo Exhibition @ Kingston Arts Centre Gallery

Large soft pastel portraits on Fabriano Papers

This series of self portraits illustrate a journey in the loss of identity, and the finding of a strength that instinctively resonates within ones' personal being.

It begins with the contemplation that one is about to enter into a possibly dangerous unknown.  It walks through hope, regret, uncertainty and then reaches a plateau where the sitter realises an inner calm and peace.  The realisation enables the journey to a future of controlled understanding, and self awareness of ones' own delicacy.
